In the competitive world that we live in, many, if not all, of your future employers will expect you to have some type of work experience.   In fact, they will more than likely require that you have at least 2 years of experience even before you apply for your first job.  Yet, the question still remains, “How do I get experience if no one is willing to give me an opportunity?”

Things to consider before reading any further

Answering “no” to four (4) or more of these questions does not disqualify you as a potential volunteer; however, these questions should be seriously considered.

  • Are you 18 years of age or older?
  • Are you flexible to changing schedules?
  • Are you able to adapt to new environments?
  • Do you have at least an intermediate level of Spanish?
  • Are you comfortable in a classroom setting?
  • Do you have any prior teaching experience?
  • Do you have any prior ESL teaching experience?
  • Have you ever travel to or lived in a foreign country?
  • Are you an outgoing/adventurous person?
  • Are you willing to live with a host family that speaks little to no English?
  • Do you get homesick easily?
  • Have you visited our social media sites to view videos and pictures related to the on-the-ground work of CANFF?

All of the questions above are potential things that could arise during your volunteership with CANFF. In fact, most of these things will arise and should therefore be taken into consideration before moving forward in the application process. So please seriously consider all of your answers to these questions before proceeding with the application process.

Volunteering With CANFF

In an increasingly competitive job market with decreasing employment opportunities, CANFF would like to invite you to work as a volunteer in order to enhance your marketability in your chosen profession.  We offer a wide variety of opportunities for students studying in the fields of economic, education, political economy, public health, linguistics, medicine, and many more.

Purposes

  1. To work directly with our on-the-ground personnel in their respective communities.
  2. To work on a project that corresponds with your field of study.
  3. To provide input to CANFF with regard to your particular field of study.
  4. To provide college students, college student-athletes, or recent college graduates, with an opportunity to gain valuable, firsthand experience in his/her field of study.

College-Athlete Volunteer

Do you want somewhere to play soccer this summer?  Have you ever dreamed of playing soccer in Latin America? Are you looking for a place to train and improve for next season?  Does playing soccer everyday and helping people sound exciting?  If you answered yes to some or all of the above questions, then CANFF needs your help.

Core Objectives

  1. To integrate college soccer players into the soccer foundation by giving them the opportunity to work with our on-the-ground coaches.
  2. To provide both volunteers and local players an atmosphere where they build bilateral relations and grow athletically throughout their time with CANFF.

College Student-Volunteer

Are you graduating from college soon? Is the reality of finding a job setting in? If you answered yes, then CANFF wants to utilize your skills and give you an experience you will never forget. CANFF is looking to create bilateral relations between college students and/or college graduates and our local communities.

The CAN Fútbol Foundation offers volunteer opportunities to college students and/or college graduates in the fields of education, public health, tourism, political economy, international relations, and medicine.

However, CANFF encourages other students to inquire about similar opportunities, believing that every field of study is pertinent to making the world a better place.

Core Objectives

  1. To provide college student-volunteers with a way to gain practical experience in their field of study.
  2. To provide both volunteers and local players an atmosphere where they build bilateral relations and grow academically during their time with CANFF.

How to Apply

Anyone who is interested in volunteering with CANFF should send an inquiry email to  info@canff.org. Please be sure to write “Volunteer Inquiry” in the subject line of the email.
