Everyone deserves the right to a better quality of life and should not be hindered by socioeconomic status or by geographic location.
CAN Fútbol Foundation believes that the sport [of soccer] has the capacity to transcend socioeconomic status and bring people together in a way that is conducive to promoting issues such as education, HIV/AIDS awareness, and public health initiatives.
Brief History
Founded in 2008 by Jason Old, university professor of Spanish, Tony Rosado, graduate student in Global Health, and Joseph Natale, president of Intensive Heart Ventures, Inc. (IHV), the organization has quickly expanded to welcome a wide range of exceptionally talented and dedicated people on its administrative staff including those from academic, medical science, and business fields, as well as those from the arts and the community at large. Each individual brings a unique skill and a deep, personal passion to the organization.
Having lived in Honduras and played soccer in the Honduran National Fútbol League, Jason Old along with Intensive Heart Ventures’ President Joseph Natale, witnessed the poverty, lack of upward mobility, and the severity of HIV/AIDS. Together they conceived the idea for the CAN Fútbol Foundation.
This youth-led movement was inspired by a passion for soccer and the influence this sport can have on a global scale. Their agenda is to ultimately reach underprivileged children throughout the world and empower them by using soccer and education as the vehicle to bring about social change and individual improvement.
