CANFF’s goal is to use the sport of soccer as a platform for social change.

Our mission in this endeavor is to improve the lives of underprivileged people and to strengthen their communities by providing them with a positive environment that facilitates their development athletically, educationally, and nutritionally.

Mission

Using the power of soccer and education as the vehicle to empower the world’s underprivileged youth, CANFF provides their student-athletes with the knowledge, life-skills and encouragement to live a positive, meaningful lifestyle.

Vision

To achieve our mission, we continuously improve our innovative approach to Sport and Development, share best practices with other NGOs, and utilize the popularity of soccer to facilitate this vision.

Strategies

  1. To continually improve our innovative, culturally sensitive and exciting approach to Sport and Development.
  2. To efficaciously share our model and approach to Sport and Development with partners on a local level, allowing us to qualitatively and quantitatively substantially impact more young people by making use of local capacity and already established infrastructure.
  3. To empower local community leaders (professional soccer players, youth soccer coaches, teachers, etc.) with the tools and resources to effectively educate the youth in their communities.
  4. To utilize already established infrastructure – clinics, schools, soccer leagues – to get the message out about the importance of juxtaposing athletics and academics.
  5. To encourage these students-athletes to adopt a healthy, more meaningful and positive lifestyle.

How We Help

It has been our experience that if a student-athlete does not reach their goal of becoming a professional player or a college student (student-athlete), then they begin to look for other avenues and endeavors such as drug trafficking or gangs.

Therefore, we consider this transition, be it to a professional team or to a college or university, to be not only pivotal, but imperative.

Strategy: The method through which we will accomplish this endeavor is laid out in our Team Requirements.

Core Objectives

  1. To serve as the liaison between the prospective student and the university to ensure that these students reach their full academic and athletic potential.
  2. To encourage academics as well as soccer so that once the student-athletes take that next step, they are prepared for the many challenges that they will face as they integrate into a college and university environment.
  3. To establish a network between United States and  the players country of origin an effort to facilitate the transition from high school to college.
  4. To operate as the pivotal point through which student-athletes enrolled in our soccer and education programs prepare themselves for the future, be it in academics or athletics.
  5. To empower the world’s youth through soccer and education.
  6. To establishing a network of communication with college and university coaches.
  7. To provide the potential student-athlete with an avenue with which they can realize their dreams of receiving a higher education.
